What Is NetZoom Add-in for Office

The latest release (18.3) of NetZoom Enterprise includes a companion product, the NetZoom Add-in for Office. This Add-in enables NetZoom users to leverage shapes, stencils, Rack elevations, diagrams and Floor layouts offered in NetZoom Enterprise plus shapes and stencils for models in NetZoom’s device shape library. User can use Add-in to embed shapes, stencils, diagrams in documentation and presentations created using Microsoft Office applications.

NetZoom means the NetZoom Enterprise product. Data Center professionals use NetZoom Enterprise to model, monitor and manage their IT and Facility infrastructure.

NetZoom Add-in for Office is available to users of NetZoom Enterprise only; no additional purchase is required.

The NetZoom Add-in for Office is not available from Microsoft’s AppSource Store. The NetZoom Add-in for Office can only be installed on Windows computers and must be re-installed when a new version of add-in is available.

NetZoom Add-in for Office has been tested to work with Microsoft Office 2016 or higher (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), including Office365.

NetZoom Add-in for Office is available for release 18.3 or higher of NetZoom Enterprise.

What are the additional requirements to install and use the Add-in:

Anyone planning to install and use NetZoom Add-in for office must be authorized to access NetZoom Enterprise; a valid credential to NetZoom Enterprise is required to use NetZoom Add-in.

What are the components of NetZoom Add-in for Office?

NetZoom Add-in for Office consists of two components:

• Manifest file (NetZoomOfficeAddin.XML) to be installed with Office Application.
• Add-in Web Site module is installed along with of NetZoom Enterprise server installation.

Prepare to Customize your NetZoom Add-in for Office

NetZoom Enterprise provides default settings for its Office Add-in. These settings are used to customize Manifest file. Manifest file of NetZoom Add-in for Office is downloaded using “Office Addin” feature of NetZoom Enterprise.

IMPORTANT:

Prior to permitting users to download Manifest file of NetZoom Add-in for Office, NetZoom Administrator can change default values of following Application Parameters in NetZoom Enterprise.
